No. This is plasma energy -- the fourth state of matter. It is the Plasma Pen® which produces a true arc of continuous ionized plasma energy. There is no blood involved, or any component of blood involved, in a Plasma Pen® fibroblasting treatment. There are no open wounds produced in either a Plasma Pen® treatment or a Jet Plasma Treatment.

Fibroblasts are a type of cell that synthesizes collagen, the structural framework of the body's tissue. Fibroblasts are the body's own construction crew, acting as a repairing force to the tissue and skin. Plasma Pen® AND Jet Plasma treatments both directly stimulate the fibroblasts. 

 The dots are carbon deposits which are left behind on the skin due to the flashes of plasma energy which are placed upon the skin from the hovering Plasma Pen® probe.

The dots usually start to dry up and fall off between 7-10 days. Sometimes they remain for longer, as it can vary from person to person. You will have the best healing results if you follow the aftercare protocol and only use the aftercare products given to you. Please trust the process. Washing your face, getting the skin wet, and using creams, oils, and products neither supplied nor recommended can cause delayed healing or damage because of premature dot loss, that has to be later corrected. The body heals more slowly than the face, so the dots on the body can remain for twice as long.

Once the dots are shed, the skin is fresh, new, and rosy. The skin will continue to tighten and rejuvenate. Your final results will be realized at the 12-week mark. 

A 50+ broad spectrum mineral sunscreen must be worn daily until the skin is fully healed to prevent hyperpigmentation/hypopigmentation. Don't stop there -- continue to wear sunscreen to protect your skin and your investment. Quality skincare products can also help you keep your treatment results.

There are no dots and no downtime with a Jet Plasma fibroblasting treatment.

Most clients report minimal to no pain during the treatment. I will apply a topical numbing cream on the treatment area prior to the procedure. Some areas can be a little more sensitive than others. The skin will feel warm afterwards, similar to a sunburn. There is the option of addressing initial inflammation with a Red LED Celluma treatment, and then I will apply a cooling Factor5 Human Stem Cell Mask to calm the skin. Moderate to severe swelling will peak at day 3-4 and will subside beginning day 5. The skin could feel tight, and once the dots start to fall it could also be itchy. The aftercare products I supply will help with this sensation. Please do not scratch the dots off -- this can create scaring.

Once the dots are shed, the skin is fresh, new, and rosy. The skin will continue to tighten and rejuvenate for the next 12 weeks. Results vary with each individual, and while you will see results after one treatment, you may want or need more correction. People with very lax skin will need 2-3 treatments. Results of subsequent treatments are cumulative. There are complimentary treatments to help maintain your beautiful results, such as a Jet Plasma cold plasma series, Plasmaporation, Plasma Spray Facials, Celluma LED Phototherapy, and microneedling.

Yes, results last from 3-5 years. In fact, your results will continue to improve over time. 12 weeks is generally when collagen peaks at 80% of its maximum tensile strength, and skin remodeling is complete. Some factors to take into consideration are age and lifestyle, your skin's elasticity, genetics, as well as the desired level of correction. Some people have even noticed improvement up to as much as a year later.

Besides the anticipated necessary healing response, no complications are expected as long as aftercare protocols are followed explicitly, and the treated area remains clean and undisturbed. Please alert me immediately if at any time you are concerned. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIHP) can occur in those individuals predisposed to this condition. If you have this condition, you are most likely already aware that you do. If PIHP does occur, it is treatable and reversible, although individual with PIHP, in most cases, should not have Plasma Pen® fibroblasting treatments -- or prepare for treatment several weeks in advance. We can discuss this further during a consultation. Jet Plasma fibroblasting is an incredible alternative to Plasma Pen® fibroblasting that provides similar permanent results and also treats hyperpigmentation.
