Dark/black skin risks hyperpigmentation/hypopigmentation from Plasma Pen® fibroblasting. If this is your Skin Type, try Jet Plasma instead!
You must not be tanned when you have a Plasma Pen® treatment
You cannot have a Plasma Pen® fibroblasting treatment if you have recently had sun exposure or sunburn, have used a tanning bed, or have intentionally sun bathed and sun tanned. You must be at least 6 weeks free from intentional sun exposure.
Spray tanning, tanning creams, tanning serums, tanning pills, and tanning injections must also be avoided for 6 weeks prior to your Plasma Pen® fibroblasting treatment. Skin that is treated while tanned could heal with hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation. It is wiser and easier to address the preparation of tanned skin prior to a Plasma Pen® fibroblasting treatment rather than having to spend the time and effort to correct an avoidable problem after the fact.
If you do not want to wait for your tan to fade, if you already have hyperpigmentation, or you simply do not have the downtime needed for a Plasma Pen® fibroblasting treatment, then a series of Jet Plasma fibroblasting treatments is your solution! Jet Plasma can even fade hyperpigmentation in preparation for Plasma Pen® fibroblasting, all the while providing a very similar result to Plasma Pen® fibroblasting. Jet Plasma results also lasts 3-5 years.
Hats, visors, sunglasses, and sunblock are a must.
Ideally, daily, you should be using an SPF50 broad spectrum, mineral-based, non-chemical sunscreen to prep your skin for 4-6 weeks before your treatment, to help avoid hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation. If you have existing hyperpigmentation, we can address fading this before your Plasma Pen® fibroblasting treatment.
You must also continue to wear SPF50 broad spectrum sunscreen for the weeks after your treatment to prevent scaring and sun damage. NO chemical sunscreens. Zinc and titanium dioxide mineral-based sunscreens only. Please ask me if you have questions about sunscreen.
Your Skin Care Regime
If you do not have one already, you should have a superior skin care regime with professional-grade skin care products. The healthier the skin's mantel is, the better results you will have from your fibroblast treatments -- whether it be Plasma Pen® fibroblasting or Jet Plasma fibroblasting. Premium products will help extend the life of your treatments, and they are another facet to obtaining and maintaining beautiful, healthy skin.

CONTRAINDICATIONS for Plasma Pen®
- If you are in generally good health there are very few reasons why you shouldn’t undergo a Plasma Pen® fibroblasting skin sublimation treatment. It is generally suitable for most people.
- It is also suitable for most skin types and textures, although there are some contraindications (see PDF file below).
- Avoid any other type of procedure on the same area which you intend to have a Plasma Pen® fibroblasting treatment, such as laser therapy, microneedling, chemical peels, Retin-A, fillers, and Botox, as this may cause your treatment being delayed. These treatments are possible to do in conjunction with Plasma Pen® fibroblasting, but they should be timed appropriately. Please let me know so I may advise you.
