- Much damage can by done with imposter "plasma pens" that are not manufactured by European Plasma Pen® pioneer Louise Walsh. Scary, horrible results that cause scarring, pitting, and pain, are caused with these impostors.
2. QUESTIONABLE DEVICE HOUSING -
- So-called "plasma pens" to be aware of are those made in China that have a plastic housing. These inferior, fake electrical pens heat up and get HOT; they use rechargeable batteries that need to be switched out during a treatment, and this means that there is not a constant, consistent flow going through the pen which causes sporadic bursts. While there are other pens that do create plasma energy, they remain an inferior, dangerous, unreliable instrument with an energy source as this.
3. QUESTIONABLE TREATMENT PROBE -
- A probe is necessary to transfer energy from a pen to the area of skin being treated. Probes should be carefully fabricated for this important, precise job. Inferior pens use probes that are almost as thick as toothpicks! These probes cause large burn marks that pit the skin, burn, and scar. Because these probes are often not attached to "true" plasma energy pens, in order to release energy they touch the skin and sear it like a soldering iron! This is the same as branding someone! Some people have even turned to inserting an acupuncture needle in their pen housing thinking that they will get a better result! This is a horrible idea! An acupuncture needle is very sharp and it can cut, pierce, and scratch the skin which will leave an open wound that can get infected -- or possible many open wounds that could be infected and result in scarring. Acupuncture needles are also not made to withstand high temperatures. Their use in this application is a bad and dangerous idea.
